Well, I set this blog up quite a long time ago. I'm not really sure what happened. But like many things planned or thought about, it goes by the wayside. Not this year! This year I intend to focus on my writing.
I have always loved to write! Quite a number of years ago, I believe the Lord impressed upon me that I am to write. At the time, I was not very excited about that because I wanted to do scrapbooking or crafts (things I saw the other church women doing). Eventually, I realized and accepted what He wanted me to do through a series of encouragement and confirmation.
Since then, I have written articles for my church's women's newsletter and compiled the newsletter myself when the "editor" stepped down. When we moved to a different church, I started the church newsletter, coordinated submissions from 3 other people, wrote my own article and page, and "published" and distributed it each month for several years.
I do enjoy writing articles very much, as well as short stories/parables the Lord gives me to witness to others. Also, I started a fiction book years ago but have been afraid to finish it due to fear of rejection and uncertaintly on how to proceed. I believe the Lord has encouraged me, through two published writer friends, to finish it. So that is what I intend to do.
This year, in addition to finishing writing projects previously begun, I signed up for the ACFW courses again, and am joining a critique group. I pray that I can be consistent and that the Lord will impress upon me what He wants me to write and in what format.
Ultimately, my desire is to reach others for Jesus through my writing.
